Meet Our Charitable Partners

We are happy to announce our charitable partners the Richmond SPCA, Richmond Public School Education Foundation, and CrossOver Healthcare Ministry. We will be donating to each organization through our referral program. We want to provide more information on each organization and share how you can support it!

Richmond SPCA

Who doesn’t love puppies and kittens, our team here at BlueSky love their pets.

 

The Richmond SPCA is a nonprofit, no-kill humane society and stands by the principle that every life is precious. They do this by Saving about 4,000 dogs and cats each year. Once in their care, each animal is provided extensive veterinary medical treatment and behavior rehabilitation. The SPCA does their best to find each of those animals a loving home.

Some of the resources that the SPCA provides include a low-cost veterinary hospital, behavior helpline, resource library, free sterilization and vaccinations to community cats. The Richmond SPCA also offers educational programs for children and training classes for pets. If that’s not enough they of course continuously advocating for progressive humane legislation in the community and state.

Ways to Help:

  • Adoption: Thinking about adding a fur member to your family? The Richmond SPCA is a great choice and helps find animals a forever home!
  • Volunteering: Maybe it’s not the right time or you are unsure if you can handle the responsibility of a pet. Well volunteering with the Richmond SPCA is a great way to support the health and happiness of animals!
  • Donation: The Richmond SPCA not only takes monetary donations but have a variety of ways to support. Whether that is their Wish List, their Shop to Give program, or donating a vehicle. There are plenty of ways to support.

Richmond Public Schools Education Foundation

As a partner of Richmond Public Schools (RPS), their mission is to actively develop philanthropic resources and community relationships that support the goal of improving student learning and achievement in preparation for success in college, career, and community.

RPS serves nearly 22,000 students and 53 schools and continuously struggles with limited resources. This Foundation seeks private contributions for RPS needs through fundraising efforts and collaborations.

Ways to Help:

  • Donation: By supporting RPS you can fund music and arts, college readiness, teacher training, after-school programming, and so much more. Providing resource can create a more equitable future and helps students learn.
  • Support a Classroom: Richmond Public Schools Education Foundation partners with Donors Choose to provide teachers with the ability to request needs for their classrooms.
  • Fund a College Scholarship: Dedicated to supporting first-generation college students’ scholarships support and achieve the dream of attending college.
  • Volunteer: This need is a critical part of the support network for teachers and students.

CrossOver Healthcare Ministry

This is a non-profit that is dedicated to providing high-quality, compassionate health care to uninsured and Medicaid patients. Found by Dr. Cullen B. Rivers and Rev. Buddy Childress, CrossOver has been supporting and treating patients since 1983.

This hospital provides a variety of needs such as dental, mental health, and specialty care. Crossover is the only charitable clinic in the greater Richmond area to offer onsite vision services, an onsite licensed pharmacy, obstetrics care, and comprehensive pediatrics program to uninsured children and children with Medicaid.

Ways to Help:

  • Volunteering: The is a large range of volunteering opportunities both clinical and non-clinical. Their greatest need in terms of volunteer opportunities is for clinicians, Spanish interpreters, nurses and nursing support (CNA, EMTs, CMAs, and RNs), and dentists.
  • Donations: CrossOver does not receive direct federal funding or have access to federally funded prescription drug programs. They rely on the generosity of our volunteers, donors and community partners to sustain our mission.

We are looking forward to work with each of our charitable partners throughout the year. Our associates plan to volunteer with each organization and we will hold donation drives.
